Referrals and Fees

Patients are able to see me privately or through one of the public health funded schemes including Medicare, Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), Workcover, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Doctor Referrals
Medicare rebates for psychological treatment are available under the Australian Government's Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative. People treated under Better Access are able to receive 10 Medicare funded psychology sessions per calendar year. Patients with Eating Disorders have up to 40 psychology sessions. If you wish to receive treatment through Medicare, you will need to be referred by your GP or  Psychiatrist.

Private Referrals
Individuals who self refer do not need to obtain a referral from their GP and will need to pay in full. Private Health Funds cover psychology visits and you may be entitled to a rebate depending on your provider and level of cover.

Fees and Rebates
My regular fee for an appointment is $210. Individuals treated by a Clinical Psychologist under the Mental Health Care Plan are able to receive a $136.35 rebate from Medicare, and your out of pocket expense will be $73.65.

Fees can be negotiated for longer term work for people experiencing financial hardship.

Telehealth

Telehealth psychology sessions are now available for patients who are unable to attend in person.
